My favorite holiday in Nicaragua is the "La griteria immaculate" that all Christians celebrate every December 7th. I love them because that day is the first day of the month of December that my whole family meets to go sing to other houses and also in my grandmother's house, in my family it's a tradition to celebrate it every year and it's something cheerful for me.
my favorite holiday in Nicaragua is the "purisima" which we go into the streets and we song and the others give us gifts.but honestly I don't know what kind of music they song, I just applaud and keep waiting for my gifts.
I see what you mean. However, since I was born and raised in Granada, I never went out to do "La Gritería", simply because there is no "Gritería" in Granada :(
My fathers never let me go to " Gritar" because it was against of "my religion" people who are "evangelica" can't eat the candies that you get in la purísima.
my favorite holiday is independence day, I feel a very special date for Nicaraguans where we feel identified with the history of our country and enjoy different celebrations in the country, like patriotic parades, fairs where we can enjoy typical Nicaraguan food, etc.
I think there is no problem to celebrate one costume from the other countries but we shouldn’t make it bigger or expose more important than our traditional costume.
My favorite holiday is Christmas because it is a date to share with family and friends, spend quality time with loved ones and when the whole family is together.
My favorite holiday is Santo Domingo de Guzmán, i love to see the people who paint their body in black and they dance to the saint, also the set of firework that means they are paying promises, this happen when the saint enters to Managua in a parade that people usually receive on the principal streets.
I tried to participate in Santo Domingo de Guzmán, and i was wearing a nice white dress and someone throw me black paint. I won't try to participate again. It could be bad luck.
My favorite holidays in Nicaragua are September 14 and 15, because it commemorates the battle of San Jacinto and the independence of our country, with many national heroes like Andres Castro, who wanted a free Nicaragua, because of this the Nicaraguans take these days to celebrate and have a good time with family or friends.
My favorite holiday is "Agüizotes" people celebrated their ancestor o relative member who have died. It takes places on the last fridays of October. People dress like ghosts and using masks, dance in the streets with their children. It is a funny experience and all should try it
My favorite holiday is Easter because I see all my family, most of my friends and we spend the whole week on the beach and we make a family via crucifix. In Nicaragua it is very traditional to eat cheese soup since you can not eat meat is those dates.
My favorite holiday is Christmas because it's the time that my whole family gathers and we spend time together, since the whole year is complicated because they live in other countries and also for the special foods and gifts.
My favorite holiday in Nicaragua is Christmas, since is one of the most important date in our country and is the time when all the people get together to celebrate and also after it is new year that is also important.
I feel that my favorite holiday is Christmas because all my family do a meeting and that is something that we do just in these dates, and for my its special to look all my family reunited
My favorite holiday in Nicaragua is New Year because on this day in all the country sett off a lot of fireworks and i love them; and also i liked the costume that Nicaraguans have on this day to put on fire a men made off paper or another material
My favorite holiday is "La purisima" because is a festivitie that i celebrate since i was 4 years old, and i love the way that is celebrated, you sing and pray hymns to Virgen Mary, also you receive snacks, candys, drinks, typical food, and share that time with in group with your family and friends
